...who would be interested in taking a 'vette cruise out to Sky Meadow and partaking of a nice late spring/early summer trail ride? Some details:

-We can have 8-10 riders per group. If we have a great deal of interest, we can do one group at 11AM, then have lunch at their on-site picnic facility, and then have the next group ride at 1PM. That would accommodate 16-20 riders.

-Each group has 2-3 tour guides for guidance and safety.

-Helmets provided. (And, no, not autoX ones!) [:))]

-All horses are Quarter Horse geldings, chosen for their quiet dispositions.

-5 or more riders qualify for the 5% off group discount ($28.50/rider with discount, $30/rider without).

-Adults and children 10 yrs+ welcome...a great family event!

-Ample parking for our 'vettes.

-Weight Limit = 240 lbs (will consider heavier
individual dependent on height/weight ratio).

The event would be on a weekend day (Sat or Sun), preferably in June. Who would be game for this? Let's trade 4 wheels for 4 legs for an hour and see what we can do! Post here.

Sounds like fun. I'm sure Judy and Don would be interested if Don is in town.

I'm in, and I can safely say the kids (15 and 12) would be in as well.

I'm afraid after our recent injuries we'll may never ride again. Don hasn't finished physical therapy yet and I'm due for more surgery to get the wire taken off my kneecap. In the meantime, if I fell off onto my kneecap - - well I won't go there. I'd like to think that someday I may ride again but not for now at least. It sounds like fun though. [:)]

But Laurie, please email the name of the facility you are thinking of using. A few years ago Don and I went out that way and took a 4 hour riding tour and it was mostly up and down the side of mountains and Don and I said that if you weren't experienced in how to take a horse up and down the side of a mountain you would be in real trouble. We had told them we were experienced riders and maybe that was a different route than they would take beginners on but the owner of the facility was kind of snotty. [>:)]

Judy-I've already done all my research. This is merely a one hour trail ride at Sky Meadow Trail Rides with very tame horses, meant for people with little or no experience riding. I'm pretty sure this isn't the same place you are referring to.

I'm hoping I can participate, too, but I'm not sure if I'll get all my ROM back, which would make riding difficult. I miss being on a horse. But I had said I'd coordinate this, so I'm going to organize it anyway, and hope I'm more healed up by June. [:)]
