January Awards banquet

OK, here is another post! First one for the social forum too!

I hit a snag with the Holiday Inn in Sterling. They never called back after I called them last week, so I called them again yesterday. I made arrangements to pick up a menu list at the front desk at 4:30 and it was not ready. The front desk called three times in a 15 minute span and they never showed up, didn't give me a list and didn't want me to come up. At 5:05 I left.

They have not called me back. Any other place you want me to try and book? I don't think I am the jinx...

I called them (HI Sterling) yesterday and gave them the details for the party. I mentioned that we were at the HI Tysons last year and she said they own that property as well. She was going to look up the deal we had with them last year and call me back which she has not. They have the date available.

If she does not call me back today then I will most likely drive out to the Tysons HI this week and talk to them.

Well, Tysons never called me back so I called them again and left a voice mail for the Asst. GM. He was the same guy that worked with us last year so I expect him to call me back.

I will be preparing a budget to be approved next Tuesday at the council meeting.

All,

The EOY party is in the works and it looks like we are
going to have it at the Holiday Inn Tysons same as
last year.

We originally had a date of January 17th but that
turns out to be a bad date for quite a few members so
we changed it to January 25th.

I need an approximate head count for the contract with
the hotel so please respond to this thread if you are
planning on attending and how many people you are
bringing with you.

The menu will be the same as last year consisting of a
prime rib buffet and chicken Dijon as the 2nd meat.

More details will follow soon.

I think a great time was had by all at the Awards Banquet last night. Enjoying the company of club members is the best part of NVCC. The food was good, the videos of racing were a good back drop to the event. There were plenty of door prizes to go around. This is an event not to be missed and I hope that club members who could not attend this year will join us next year.
