All,

I am going back to my old stomping grounds and hoping to take some fellow club members with me to represent the NVCC at the 12th Annual 'Vettes at the Beach on Sunday, July 31, 2005. This is the "flagship" show of the Northeast...last year 428 vettes were in attendance!

This show is put on by the Syracuse Corvette Club and is a non-judged, people's choice show. Excellent goodie bags, dash plaques, vendors, trophies, and corvette camraderie while seeing many vettes, old and new, modded or stock, at their finest. The weather is usually very nice, with temps in the 70s/80s and is a short walk to beautiful Sylvan Beach. See the surf and sand along with some hot cars! Their ultimate goals? Raising money for charities and bringing together the owners of the coolest American made sports car...the Chevrolet Corvette!

I will be heading up the day before the show (Saturday, 7/30) and hopefully taking some of you with me. Register in the event posting, post here, or e-mail me at lilredcorvette94@yahoo.com if you would like to join my elite caravan to CNY!

Additionally, I will be updating this event posting with hotel data as well as restaurant info, as I would like to work in a club dinner after the drive up, if there is sufficient interest. Lots of great restaurants and diners at the show site, as well as things to see and do in the area. Will keep you posted!

We will meet at the Newgate Shopping Center in Centreville, conveniently located at the intersection of Routes 28 and 29. Take Route 66 to Exit 53A to Route 28 S and then take the Route 29 S Exit, immediately turning right into the parking lot.

Directions to the CNY area and show site will be given out at the drivers' meeting. It is an approximately 6-7 hour drive to CNY.

Once again, many NVCC members missed an awesome show. The weather was perfect and yet another attendance record was broken; 451 vettes at the show this year. Tons of fun had by all!

But the best part of the show was that 2 of us won awards for our cars! Our very own Phil Squires won a trophy in the C6 class for his beautiful 2005 LMB Coupe and I won a trophy for LilRed in the C4 class. A very moving, wonderful day...thank you, Phil and Mike Hunter for attending...hope you enjoyed the trip!

Also at the show were a lot of people from the CorvetteForum Southeast Region, who help to plan those wonderful Skyline drive cruises we all enjoy so much, as well as some people who attended our Concours this year! Nice to see some fellow Virginian faces.

Will do this again next year...hopefully more and more will follow the lead and come to this event...it is *THE* flagship event on the east coast, second to Corvettes at Carlisle. Lots to see and do while here in NY, hopefully more members will partake next year.

I'll see if I can get Phil and Mike to post some pics...LilRed Airhead forgot her camera [:(]
