Everyone,

I'm putting out fealers for a 2002/2003 Z06. I have a few leads on a couple of cars, but am looking for a few more. I would like to find a black, or red one but that is secondary if I can find a good deal. Yellow would be my 3rd choice, and silver 4th. If anyone knows of one let me know on this post. Thanks [:)]

Autotrader.com is showing 12 black or red 2002 or 2003 Z06's for sale within 200 miles of my zip code (22315 -- Kingstowne).

This is how I located my Vert.

I wheeled and dealed between 2 different dealers (both in PA) and got a pretty good deal!!

BTW, here's something I learned from my experience. The 2002 models are probably out of warranty. If you buy the car from a Chevy dealer, that dealer can sell you an extended GMPP warranty. Otherwise, you are SOL. I learned that by calling Dennis at Fitchner Chevy (see Corvette Forum) and he gave me the actually dealer cost and MSRP on the different GMPP length/mileage programs. I bought the 48 month/36K mile coverage for $905 (dealer cost) on my 2002 vert which was out of warranty when I bought the car.

If you decide to buy a 2003 that still has active coverage, you can also by the GMPP but you can buy it from ANY Chevy dealer. If the dealer won't negotiate with you on the price, call Fitchner. Dennis will definitely treat you right.

Hope this helps. [:D]

Yea, I've got a couple of good leads going. I've also been using auto trader.com along with cars.com, and several others. Also, Alex, and Joe at Koons have been a big help. They will go out of their way to help you. I've also been auto checking every vehicle that I've looked at. I'm hoping to travel to PA, and NJ Saturday to look at a couple.

Let me know when you get down to the last two or three choices and I'll run Carfaxes on them.

That's what Auto check is just a little more detailed than carfax. Auto check is what 95% of the dealerships use before they buy cars. I've compared the 2, and have seen several differences. The both offer buyback garentees so they are both very helpful. [:)]

[:))] [:))] [:))] Jim, if your talking about your avatar; well it's yellow? [:-/] [:D] [:D]

I guess my problem with blue cars is my parents had blue vehicles (cars, trucks) all through my childhood (wait a minute; I'm still a kid?)I guess I kind of got burnt on blue vehicles after 20 some odd years.

Same here. Grew up in a bedroom with blue carpet, curtains, bedspread...even the furniture was antique blue. First car my parents bought me was blue.

I am so turned off on the color blue for cars it's not even funny. I do however like the GS shade of blue, but always wanted a red vette.

It's not about the color, it's about the heritage, it's the history. The 1996 GS and the Z06s are Chevy's retro response to the original Grand Sports.

Do a web search and check it out. [;)]

This is one of those cases where you can overlook what color it is.

If I was in the market, I would seriously consider it EVEN if it was say RED [:p]

George give the guys up a Cooper Corvettes a try. I picked up the 01 from them at a great price. If they don't have it they can get it. Bob Arnold, past member of the Club has connections [;)]

Also the just rebuilt the rear in the GS for great price. So the service is darn good too.

MIKE check the side panels out.... The 66's had 3 vertical slots, the 63/64's had these horizontal ones...(I had a 63)

This thing is not a 66... has to be a 64.....due to the lack of the SPLIT WINDOW.......and a beauty at that! [=D>]

However the Z06 was only offered in 1963, and only with the 327 Fuelie.... so this baby is a clone. [:((] That 396 BB was a 65 engine too, so its not even an orig 66 car.. :(

I think it has Aaron Quine's name on it too.... [:-$]
