Jim,
Hope you have a great time. [:)] The last time I went to Daytona was in "98". I took a picture of Earnhardt crossing the finish line, blew it up into a 20x30 and got him to sign it for me. There is also a copy of it in the DEI museum. [:D] It's probably one of the best pictures I've taken to date of a car. I also have one of Jr. in his 1st cup race at Charlote in "99" that he signed for me. [:D]

George,
When they built the Earnhardt tower we scored 4 seats for the four days we have had since 97. Great seats. We have unobstructed view of all the pits, we are mid way in Winston (oops NEXTEL Tower) and every inch of the track, start finish, etc. I was looking through my binocs when I saw Earnhardt slow in turn 4 to let Waltrip take the lead and then get popped, ending his life unfortunetly. [:(]

Yea, those are sweet seats Scoop! Freinds of mine sit in that section, and are very pleased with them. If they bring back the factory teams I would like to go down for the 24 hour race one year. I think it would be a blast! [:D]

I'd rather go to Daytona and watch "Race Car drivers" at the 24 Hours, than Nascar drivers. Don't understand all the hype over Nascar. Nascar has great marketing though. [:-/]
Give me ALMS, F1, CART, INDY, SPEED Challenge, SCCA, Porsche Super Cup, World Ralley. Thats driving [:D]

I agree. Having been to the 24 hour about 5 times I tell everyone it is the greatest bargain in spectator racing. Multiple races, 24 hours of endurance, all visible for $25 - what a deal.
I personnally am not enamored with NASCAR BUT the Daytona 500 with its 4 days of racing leading up to the 500 is very different than the "normal" NASCAR event. I find it as exciting as the Indy 500 USED TO BE. Watching them go at it for 200 laps fender to fender is something. The qualifying races are some of the most exciting I have seen and the trucks and the Busch cars that are not accustomed to running at a track like Daytona are also something to see. One of those things ... Ya gotta be there to appreciate it. [:)]
